 I believe my clients hire me for a full experience and service, not just a photoshoot. It's my responsibility to provide them with the tools for an easy and successful experience!

 

Lifestyle family photography is all about capturing the genuine moments and emotions within a family's daily life. Here's the first tip to help you create beautiful and meaningful lifestyle family photos:

Connect with the Family: Before the photo session, take some time to engage with the family and grasp their dynamics, interests, and the story they want to convey through the photos. I use a customized questionnaire to do this and discuss styling and other crucial aspects with them!

For capturing natural family moments, follow these steps:

  • Observe and Exercise Patience: Rather than directing the family, step back and observe. Let them engage in activities they naturally enjoy. Be patient and wait for those authentic moments to unfold. It may take some time for genuine interactions to happen.

Styling has become an integral part of my session planning, flow, and art. While wardrobe doesn't make or break the perfect moment, it can certainly enhance it!

Planning 

I believe it's crucial to get to know and communicate with your client about styling from the beginning. Not everyone is into flowy, dreamy, boho dresses and fancy-pants! Have them define their style in their own words. Do they have favorite colors or patterns they'd like to incorporate? Gather as much information as needed and create a wardrobe designed specifically for them. On the flip side, CLIENTS, make sure you choose a photographer whose vibe matches your vision. Don't pick a photographer who specializes in neutrals and casual wardrobe if you plan to show up in a ball gown and suit. Both visions may get lost in translation, yours and the photographer's!

Offer your client options and ensure your selections are inspired by what your client has shared about their authentic style.



Styling Outfits for your upcoming photoshoot. 

When it comes to styling families for a lifestyle family photo session, several elements play a pivotal role in creating visually appealing and impactful photographs. Each of these key elements - color, texture, pattern, and movement - contributes uniquely to the overall aesthetics and mood of the photos. Let's delve into their significance:
