Thank you for your interest in booking a maternity session with Summer Elizabeth Photography.

Transitions into motherhood are emotional, tangible, and indescribable, and I am passionate about capturing the beauty of motherhood through my photography. I love documenting the bond between mothers and their partners, the anticipation and excitement, and the curiosity of older siblings.

At Summer Elizabeth Photography, I offer both in-studio fine art maternity sessions and outdoor on-location maternity sessions in Phoenix and Scottsdale. I also offer destination locations in Sedona and surrounding cities. If you're interested, please ask me for more details.

For outdoor maternity sessions, most sessions take place during golden hours which are either before sunset or during sunrise hours. Whether you choose an in-studio or outdoor maternity photo session, you will receive a customized experience tailored specifically to you. Every session begins with a phone call consultation with me, during which we will discuss and plan every detail for your session.

During the session, I will set up unique and styled compositions for your portraits and guide you through every moment.  We will mostly focus on you and showing off that amazing bump, of course significant others/spouses are welcome as well as your children. 

My goal is to make you feel comfortable and beautiful while we document these special memories.

How far in advance should we book a maternity session?

The sooner the better! It's never too early to schedule your session.

  • Maternity and newborn sessions are recommended to schedule in first or second trimester. 
  • Maternity sessions are best photographed between 28-35 weeks
  • Additionally, it's also best to schedule your newborn session at the same time as your maternity session.
  • The best time to photograph a newborn is during the first two weeks after birth, as newborns are most sleepy and flexible during this time, allowing for those adorable curled-up poses. So, don't wait until your baby arrives to book your newborn session.
  • I highly recommend booking both your maternity and newborn sessions at the same time.

The two-session bundle offers a seamless experience from your maternity session to capturing those precious newborn moments. During your maternity session, you'll get to know my workflow and style, ensuring a comfortable and relaxed experience. Then, after your little one arrives, I’ll be there to photograph those unforgettable newborn details.
