When Gemma contacted me about her maternity session she knew she wanted to have her maternity portraits at the lake, but she did not want to have to drive to far.  She live in north Phoenix, so we decided to do a session here at Lake Pleasant, AZ.  Gemma has 2 older daughters, Azalea 4 years old and Penelope 2 years old.  This is her last maternity and she is expecting a baby boy. Ryan, her husband, and her daughters are very excited to welcome this little brothers. 


I got super excited about planning this session! Before each and every sessions, I always call all my clients and we will plan and discuss what to expect, what to bring and everything to ensure that they are prepare for their session with me.  I will help them style their session and give suggestion on what to wear, etc.  

Since sunset not until nearly 730pm right now in the summer in AZ, we decided to meet closer to sunset hour, mostly to avoid the heat and get better lighting. We did not started until about 6.45pm. Gemma shows up in this beautiful off shoulder dark blue chiffon gown long maxi, and when I saw her outfits, I knew they would work so well at Lake Pleasant, as it  is complement her skin tone and very well contrast to the Arizona hot summer lake backdrop .  Her tan skin tone looked amazing, so glowing, her hair was perfection, and her outfit choices were on point. Gemma was also very interested in getting in the water, so we got fews water shots for her toward the end of the session before it got too dark.
